Capt. Mahinda inspects $ 200 m Mattala Airport

President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Friday inspected the $ 200 million Mattala Airport, which is nearing completion. The visit follows the successful conduct of the first test flight on the new airstrip a few days before. The airport construction project is on a 2,000 hectare bare land at Mattala in the Hambantota District. It was launched by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on 27 November 2009.
