“You are completing five decades and I am just nearing five years” is what Central Bank Governor Nivard Cabraal (right) telling veteran banker Rienzie T Wijetilleke? Perhaps so as banking legend Rienzie T Wijetilleke (left) last week celebrated 50 years in the industry and he was aptly felicitated by Hatton National Bank, in which his service has spanned over two decades. From a small player originally today HNB has grown to become within the top two private banks in the country.
