For the first time ever, the Gang of 80 – a hardcore group of senior business professionals from India – along with their wives chose Sri Lanka for their annual retreat.

Befitting their status as being the top of India’s business world, 13 couples checked into Jetwing Beach, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World on 18 November.

Boasting of the finest stretch of beachfront in all of Negombo, the group indulged in tailor-made experiences in dining, service, and comfort. While the gents relaxed in the cool wind wafting from the Indian Ocean, the ladies had a gala time shopping for unique Sri Lankan souvenirs for friends back home!

After spending time at Jetwing Beach, the Group of 80 will head to another member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Jetwing Lighthouse.  A collection of activities have been lined up both as entertainment and education about the amazing cultural heritage that our island possesses, along with a tour of the colonial highlights of Galle and a visit to the newly-discovered, pristine Kottawa rainforest.

Very impressed with the hospitality and uniqueness of Sri Lanka, members of the group have opted to extend their stay by arranging excursions farther into the country. The group will be travelling in the latest luxury acquisitions to the Jetwing Travels fleet, and will be accompanied by experienced tour guides who are exclusive to Jetwing.

Only 60 minutes drive away from Colombo, Jetwing Beach boasts the best sun, surf and sand in Sri Lanka. The pristine beach invites you and your family to feel the wind blowing through your hair and the sand sift through your feet.

Jetwing Beach prides itself on being a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, with a pristine beach in a luxurious setting. Boasting 75 deluxe rooms and three magnificent suites, Jetwing Beach gives plush living a brand new meaning.

Jetwing Lighthouse is another member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and boasts a unique design by the late genius Geoffrey Bawa, as well as a reputation for being a famous landmark on the Southern Coast.

Covering an area of seven acres, the property has 60 deluxe rooms and three suites, each designed to reflect a stage in the city of Galle’s history: The Spielbergen being influenced by Dutch architecture, the Fa Hsien Chinese, and the Ibn Batuta being Moroccan.

When you wish to work hard but also play hard, there is one last retreat you can rely on; the Jetwing Small Luxury Hotels of the world. They are always equal to the task!
