These include conferences, seminars, carnivals, concerts, plays and much more.

Through this very unique site people are able to get direct information with regards to the time, date, venue etc. at which the scheduled events will be taking place. This service is a fast, convenient and reliable means of keeping abreast of public events and enables access to a wealth of information at the press of a button.

“Through this unique facility we help organisers to log in themselves and publish their own events on the website. Event brochures and posters may also be stored on the site for public reference. And no charge is levied!” said Chris Corea, Director of Riscor Consultants (Pvt.) Ltd. and the initiator of this unique site.

The online website can be accessed through ‘www.mostevents.lk’. It not only provides details of events taking place in the current month/year but also offers valuable information on events taking place in the future as well – as soon as event information is available it can go on the site.

“We are sure that regular event organisers will see the advantage of having their event data published on a popular online site for the easy reference of the public. They will have the ability to reach out to a wider customer segment. Another unique facility is that organisers are able to look for suitable dates for scheduling an event to ensure that their event does not clash with similar events that are taking place. Also they have the option to advertise their event on the site to gain extra mileage,” stated Corea.

The mostevents.lk site adopts a familiar ‘calendar like’ layout and is extremely user friendly. Through the site one can identify the type of event at a glance because each event type is associated with a particular icon.

All event-related data may be kept continuously updated. Viewers who would like to be reminded of a particular event could click on a button and have the event incorporated in their personal calendar with an alarm, for example two days before the event. You could also click on a button and email event data to a friend.

For the techies, an RSS feed is incorporated and by using the RSS reader facility available on your mobile phone or computer, new event information would be notified to you automatically.
