HolidayCheck.com has rated The Eden Resort & Spa as one the best hotels to visit in the world in the year 2016.

HolidayCheck is the largest independent travel portal amongst German speaking countries and each year, the entity presents its own awards to the best hotels worldwide. Criteria for the award are based on reviews by travellers who have stayed in their nominated hotels during the previous 12 months.

This is the 11th consecutive year in which the most popular hotels across the world have been awarded based on current reviews. Over 1.08 million guest reviews from 2015 were looked at for the decision.

There are strict rules in place for presenting the award in order to be considered for this sought-after accolade. A hotel must have collected at least 50% reviews from its guests in 2015 and must have been recommended by at least 90% of its former guests.

The award recognises the extraordinary performance of dedicated hotels and staff to achieve the highest standings in hospitality. Award-winning hotels have to exceed guest expectations of the products on offer and achieve perfect service daily.

Nestled on the golden coastline of Beruwela, The Eden Resort & Spa offers guests a home away from home and strives to continuously offer a unique and truly tropical experience in the southern coast of Sri Lanka.

“The HolidayCheck award is of immense importance to us as it helps in bringing in more guests to our property. The Eden Resort & Spa greatly appreciates the continuous support of its guests. Their feedback is used by management and staff to continually improve the high quality service and value on offer. The resort has been recognised on various global platforms and this is of great satisfaction as it is a testimony to the fact that we are doing something right. My heartfelt thanks go out to all the staff and management of the Eden Resort & Spa as well, because if not for their dedicated service, Eden would not be where it is today,” said Browns Hotels & Resorts General Manager Eksath Wijeratne.
