Taj Hotels in Sri Lanka bags 88 medals at Culinary Art 2017

0103Taj Hotels in Sri Lanka – Taj Samudra Colombo, Vivanta by Taj Bentota and The Gateway Hotel Airport Garden culinary experts won 88 medals in total at the recently concluded 17th Culinary Art Food Expo organised by the Chefs’ Guild Lanka. The iconic event was held at the BMICH between 28 and 30 July. This extraordinary feat was achieved by the Taj Hotels in Sri Lanka culinary experts, who won 5 Gold Excellence medals, 14 Gold medals, 27 Silver medals and 42 Bronze medals in total 88 medals at this event.

Taj Samudra Colombo won 46 medals in total, Vivanta by Taj Bentota won 22 medals in total and The Gateway Hotel Airport Garden won 20 medals at the Culinary Art 2017.

Taj Hotels in Sri Lanka’s win is considered invaluable and a significant record set in the culinary field due to the high standard of participants and judging criteria which was on par with global competitions. 

This remarkable achievement was duly recognised and complimented by Area Director Sri Lanka and Maldives and General Manager Sarabjeet Singh who commented that the culinary experts triumph was a source of pride for Taj Hotels in Sri Lanka and congratulated the winners on their sensational victory at this prestigious event.

The Culinary Art Food Expo is one of the biggest culinary exhibitions in Asia, recognised by Chefs Guild Lanka affiliated to the World Association of Chefs’ societies (WACS), which has a membership of 110 countries.
