Taiwan’s famous model and actress, Kelly Lin tied the knot with her business tycoon lover Chris Young Monday, 28 March 2011 in this perfect, dream-like setting, reports whatsonxiamen.com via sina.com.cn.

Lin and Young invited thirty close friends and relatives from Los Angles, Taipei, Hong Kong and Shanghai to attend the ceremony. Although the wedding took place on Monday, the couple held their wedding photo shoot earlier, on Saturday, and were seen posing on a traditional Maldivian boat, at sunset.

Young, who runs a clothing business in Los Angles, is two years older than Lin and they have been committed to each other since October 2010. The pictures, which have gone viral, depict both of them enjoying the peace and beauty of Maldives to the fullest. The pictures captured them radiant and happy, in natural poses that did not seem at all out of place; the backdrop was sparkling aquamarine, the setting sun lighting up the clear sky.

A wedding for tourists in Maldives, although informal, can be quite exciting when this important event occurs on a soft white beach, beside a crystal clear lagoon. You vow to never leave your beloveds side, while the golden sun slowly sets, giving way to the lucent moon to rise. You don’t need any music for the occasion; the soothing sound of the waves create the perfect rhythm that suits the ambiance.

The affair has been bound in secrecy to reduce media scrutiny on the couple.

Most of the resorts in the Maldives cater such matrimonial services as all the tiny islands in the Maldives are ideal to create the most beautiful of memories in their life. It is one reason why the archipelago is a renowned honeymoon and wedding destination, attracting high-end clients from all over the world.

The easiest part is that, the resorts would take charge of all the planning, all you have to plan is how best to relish the special moments. All the resorts in the Maldives follow the same basic customs in conducting such symbolic matrimonies which include planting a coconut palm on the beach side, by the couple. This ritual symbolises prosperity and growth through the beginning of a new life, which is to last till eternity. One resort where the couple may have tied the knot is Banyan Tree Madivaru, the ultimate romantic destination with almost unmatched standards in terms of accommodation and services, while its sister resort Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru offers a parallel setting with the best of services. Other such resorts include; Coco Palm Bodu Hithi Maldives, Naladhu Maldives and Soneva Gili by Six Senses that are all roughly 30 minutes away by speedboat from the capital city, Malé.

These resorts and still many more, would arrange everything to match your dream wedding and also decorate the room for your memorable first night. A wedding ceremony for guests at resorts here typically ends with the presentation of a ceremonial wedding certificate, after which the newly-weds sip juice from a tender coconut and enjoy a walk down the pristine beach.

Maldives, being an Islamic country, does not allow any formal weddings for couples unless they are both Muslims. Thus, the weddings do not legally bind the couple. Such ceremonies are only symbolic, along with the ‘renewal of vows ceremony’ for couples who wish to recreate memories of their most memorable day, in a beautiful and serene destination such as the Maldives.
