SriLankan Airlines celebrated the success of its best performing travel agents at the SriLankan Airlines Top Agents Awards Ceremony at the national carrier’s corporate headquarters in Colombo’s World Trade Center on 18 August.
The awards were presented at the SriLankan Airlines Boardroom by the airline’s Chairman Ajith Dias, CEO Captain Suren Ratwatte and Manager Sri Lanka Sanjeeva Jayatileke
Dias said: “Our heartiest congratulations to all of our Top Ten travel agents, who have been our valued partners for many years and play a vital role in supporting our country’s travel and tourism industry.”
The Gold Award was presented to Metro Travels & Tours Ltd., with the Silver Award going to The Traveller Global Ltd., and the Bronze Award to 2nd Chance Travels Ltd.
Ratwatte added: “SriLankan Airlines is fortunate to have such staunch support from our travel community, and we look forward to many more years of fruitful partnerships with each of these travel agents.”
Jayatileke said: “The Gold, Silver and Bronze that we presented today are very special indeed, since they are made out of actual parts of aircraft which have served the national carrier, as our agents have also done.”
Awards of Appreciation were presented to Classic Travel, Hemas Travels Ltd., Sharmila Travels & Tours Ltd., Mackinnons Travels Ltd., Gabo Travels Ltd., B.O.C. Travels Ltd., and George Steuarts Travels Ltd.
“It has been a delight to work with the national carrier, which supports us and the country’s travel and tourism industries through thick and thin. My congratulations to all of the staff of Metro Travels & Tours for all their hard work which has resulted in our winning the Gold Award,” said M. Thanaraj Managing Director of Metro Travels & Tours Ltd.
The event was attended by the senior management of the airline and the staff of the airline’s Sri Lanka Sales Department which works closely with the country’s travel agents.
SriLankan Airlines has built close relationships throughout the country’s travel agent community, in addition to having 14 offices throughout the country at Colombo’s World Trade Center, Bandaranaike International Airport, Kandy, Galle, Aluthgama, Anuradhapura, Batticaloa, Gampaha, Hambantota, Jaffna, Kurunegala, Trincomalee, Vavuniya and Wennappuwa, which work closely with travel agents in addition to serving the travelling public.
