Continuing with their awareness campaign among local bodies on the potential of bringing conferences into Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka Conventions Bureau (SLCB), together with SriLankan Airlines made presentations to the members of the Organisation of Professional Association (OPA) recently.
The presentations included explaining the importance of the conference business, how the OPA members could attract such events into Sri Lanka and the role of the SLCB and SriLankan Airlines in bidding, organising, staging and adding value.
SLCB General Manager Vipula Wanigasekera said that Sri Lanka has to enhance the MICE tourism segment in order to bring more value through tourism into the country together with leisure. ‘ MICE tourists spends three to four times more than leisure seekers.
