Singapore Airlines is further demonstrating its commitment to supporting Singapore’s tourism sector with special offers to encourage visits or stopover holidays this year. Customers can enjoy the opportunity to book a one-night Singapore Stopover Holiday (SSH) package or a one-day Singapore Explorer Pass (SEP) at a special promotional rate of $ 1. The promotion will kick off a series of activities SIA has lined up for the year to celebrate the nation’s 50th birthday (SG50). SIA is also offering a complimentary SG50 attractions bundle to customers who purchase the SSH package or the SEP. Consisting of experiences that showcase the unique culture and heritage of Singapore, the SG50 attraction bundle brings Singapore’s history to life. Highlights include the Yong Gallery, where visitors can learn calligraphy, and a visit to Kim Choo Kueh Chang, a Singapore mainstay which sells Peranakan snacks, where visitors can get a brief introduction to the Peranakan culture and enjoy a hands-on experience at rice dumpling making. The SSH package is targeted at SIA or SilkAir customers who are stopping over in Singapore before flying to their next destination. It includes hotel accommodation, airport transfers and entrance to major tourist attractions and activities in Singapore. Customers can enjoy unlimited rides on the SIA Hop-on bus – an air-conditioned bus service for visits to more than 20 major attractions in Singapore, and a 50% dining discount at designated food outlets at selected hotels. The usual price of a SSH package starts from $ 59 for one night. Targeted at SIA or SilkAir customers who are flying to or passing through Singapore, the SEP offers access to over 20 tourist attractions and activities in Singapore. Its usual price starts from $ 45 for a one-day adult pass or $ 30 for a one-day child pass. All SIA or SilkAir customers can take advantage of the Singapore Airlines Boarding Pass Privileges program, which offers discounts on shopping, dining, sightseeing tours, tourist attractions and car rentals when customers present their SIA/SilkAir boarding passes at participating merchants. Customers will also get a free pre-paid M1 card (worth $ 6) when they book the SSH package or purchase the SEP. “The introduction of these special promotions is another example of our longstanding commitment to promoting tourism to Singapore, especially this milestone year as we celebrate the nation’s 50th birthday. We are confident the promotions will encourage more travellers to come and experience Singapore’s new and exciting tourism offerings,” said Foo Chai Woo, Singapore Airlines Divisional Vice President Sales and Marketing. The offer is valid for new bookings and ticket sales made from 27 January to 28 February 2015 and is valid for travel from 27 January to 15 June 2015. A minimum of two-to-go applies for the SSH package and the $ 1 promotional rate is valid based on hotel room availability. The promotion is available in local currency in Australia, the United States and selected countries in Europe. It will be available in other countries, in the local currencies based on a conversion from SGD1.
