Shangri-La’s Hambantota Resort & Spa General Manager Iain McCormack stated: “It is my pleasure to share this milestone with our esteemed partners and guests. Though still at our onset, the excellence and true dedication of our people has been instrumental in realising our vision to be a five-star property that personifies the true meaning of luxury and privacy, while offering activities for the whole family.” He added: “We successfully overcame the opening challenges and set a benchmark for five-star hospitality in Sri Lanka. We are very pleased with the endorsement and avid reviews from our guests which helped us earn a positive reputation in our first year of operation. We wish to continue raising the bar of service excellence to exceed the expectations of today’s sophisticated local vacationers and international travellers alike.”
In just one year, Shangri-La’s Hambantota has emerged as the destination of choice for spending precious moments with loved ones away from the city’s bustling chatter, thanks to the resort’s gateway to the wild; a unique experience made complete with a selection of dining options, a multitude of outdoor recreational activities including ecological initiatives, and an 18-hole golf course with distinctive challenges for both casual and seasoned players.
