Scoot Airlines, the newest low cost carrier to enter the Australian market, touched down in Sydney for the first time on Tuesday.
In a move that’s sure to put the pressure on Jetstar and Air Asia, the Singapore Airlines subsidiary is offering sale fares starting from as little as $179 one-way.
With a fleet of Boeing 777 aircraft fitted with premium and economy cabins, Scoot will fly daily between Sydney and Singapore, and five times a week from the Gold Coast commencing next week.
Scoot’s CEO Campbell Wilson said the airline will offer low fares everyday ensuring savings on every flight.
“Scoot is a low cost airline, with a philosophy to empower travellers so that they pay for only the frills that matter to them,” he said.
