Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau organised its first Road Show in Singapore at Hilton Hotel on 8 July to promote the island’s tourist attractions and to build business link with tourism industry stakeholders. 15 Sri Lankan industry partners joined with Sri Lanka Tourism to meet the potential agents and tour operators from both countries.
Sri Lanka Tourism invited key tour operators, Destination Management Companies (DMCs) and the event at Hilton Hotel was inaugurated by lighting of the traditional oil lamp by invitees and industry members from Sri Lanka and Singapore. President of NATAS participated at the Road Show as Chief Guest and was involved in traditional lighting of the oil lamp with the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore.
The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore Nimal Weerarathne delivered his welcome speech with a brief on Singapore-Sri Lanka bilateral relations and benefits of investing in the tourism sector of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Junior Manager Kalpa Gunasinghe addressed the audience to highlight tourist attractions and experience available in Sri Lanka. SLTPB Junior Manager Gunasinghe and First Secretary Commercial Rekha Mallikarachchi made all the arrangements to make the event a success. Over 40 travel companies from Singapore attended B2B meetings with Sri Lankan Tour operators and hoteliers.
The attendees were offered lovely gift prizes which also included two domestic air tickets hosted by Cinnamon air. Among all other participants, three lucky participants won three tour packages as a gift from Sunway Holidays Ltd., Green Holiday Centres Ltd. and Camlo Lanka Tours Ltd.
