Riza Ahamat elected as the President of IATA Agents Association of Sri Lanka

Hemas Travels Ltd. Director/General Manager Riza Ahamat was elected President of the IATA Agents Association of Sri Lanka (IATA – AASL). He was elected for the post, during the 26th Annual General Meeting of the IATA Agents Association of Sri Lanka (IATA-AASL), which was held on Thursday, 15 May at the APA Hotel & Resort, Tokyo, Japan. Apart from, Ahamat’s election as President for the year 2014/2015 period, Jude Condrad, Managing Director of Himpras Tours Ltd. was also elected as the Vice President. In the meantime, the following persons were elected to the Committee of IATA-AASL for the period of 2014/15: Nishantha Seneviratne, General Manager of Aitken Spence Travels Ltd, S. Paramanathan, Managing Director of Atlas Lanka Ltd., Suresh Mendis, Chief Executive Officer of Classic Travels Ltd., Rajiv Guruswamy, Chief Executive Officer of Delair Travels Ltd., Channe Wijemanne, Senior Director of George Steuarts Travel International Ltd., Duminda Kuruwitaarachchi, Director of Go Holidays Ltd., M.L.C. Fernando, Managing Director of  Lando Travels Ltd., Sonali Liyanamana, Chief Operating Officer of  Mackinnons Travels Ltd., M. Thanarasa, Director of  Metro Travels Ltd., Rimzi Nazeer, Managing Partner of Skymark Travels Ltd., Tillak Wickremasinghe, Proprietor of Skyways, S. Premakumara, Managing Director of Travel World Ltd. and Rizmi Reyal, Chairman/Managing Director of The Traveller Global Ltd. as the Immediate Past President. IATA-AASL was formed in 1988 as a body to represent the interests of the Sri Lankan Travel Agencies, accredited by the International Air Transport Association. At present, IATA Agents Association of Sri Lanka has a membership of 100.
