Addressing the gathering at the grand reopening ceremony, Taj Samudra General Manager Rohit Khosla said the Taj was now redefining luxury standards in Sri Lanka: “Worldwide the Taj is known for its iconic hotels and legendary service. David Edwards is a great designer and he was given a concept to keep our history alive. We been here for 30 years and we didn’t want to lose the history. So we rejuvenated what we had and that’s what you see. “We are very proud to launch the Tata Suite, 5,200 sqft with its own spa fitness and meeting facility. We launch YUMI tonight with a short tasting version of the menu, which will be launched in full by 1 February, offering Japanese cuisine with the best ingredients. Our cocktails and spirits are handcrafted by a world-renowned bar consultant Atila, supported by music played by resident DJ Angelica. “Master Chef Ping continues to delight everybody with the Szechuan cuisine at Golden Dragon, Master Chef Chauhan continues to delight us with wonderful pilau, kebabs and biryanis at Navratna, Chef Sega continues to delight the discerning palate with exquisite fine dining at the Steak and Grill House. A selection of over 110 wines and 21 single estate blended teas are some of the experiences that await you at the rejuvenated Taj Samudra. Many more new experiences will come alive in the coming months.”
