Qatar Airways, the flag carrier of Qatar, was awarded for its consistently high performance among the Middle East and Africa Major Airlines in FlightStats’ 7th Annual Airline On-Time Performance Service Awards.
Among the competing airlines in the MEA category were EgyptAir, Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, Etihad, Flydubai, Kenya Airways, Pegasus, Saudia and Turkish Airlines.

The big winner was Japan Airlines, which scooped up the award in the Major International Airlines category as well as the Asia-Pacific Major Airlines category. Oneworld was awarded under the Airline Alliances category, Alaska Airlines was recognised under the North America Major Airlines and Copa Airlines was awarded under the Latin America Major Airlines category.
Iberia took home the award for the Europe Major Airlines and its subsidiary, Iberia Express, was awarded under the Low-Cost Airlines category.
The FlightStats On-time Performance Service (OPS) Awards recognises airlines and airports around the world that deliver the highest percentage of flights to their arrival gates within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time.
