A multidisciplinary management professional Pradeep Siriwardane was appointed as the General Manager of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) with effect from 1 December.
Siriwardane has over 20 years of work experience in IT, management and marketing by working in the private and public sectors in Sri Lanka and overseas.
He holds a M.Sc. in Management and Information Technology from The University College Dublin, National University of Ireland in Ireland, B.Sc. (Hons) from Trinity University – USA, and he is also a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute – UK, Chartered Professional Member of British Computer Society – UK, member of Chartered Marketing Institute and Charted Institute of Management Accountants – UK.
Siriwardane started his career as a System Analyst at NIBM and stepped into the Sri Lanka Army as an IT Officer/Heard of Research and Development from 1997 to 2004. Siriwardane got the opportunity to divert his professionalism and joined as a Marketing Manager at MiTel Limited, a UK-based global solution provider firm, and eventually rose to become the Head of Marketing/Operations in 2010.
