Thailand-based Minor Hotels Group is to expand its portfolio of properties in Sri Lanka with the October 2016 opening of the Anantara Kalutara Resort.
Only 10 minutes from the historic town of Kalutara and an hour from Colombo, the Anantara Kalutara Resort resides along Sri Lanka’s beautiful southwest coast. The peaceful beachfront setting between the Indian Ocean and Kalu River boasts coastal, river and lagoon frontage.
The resort will feature 141 guest rooms, suites and pool villas.
All suites and villas allow guests to listen to their favourite soundtracks on the Bose Bluetooth speaker, and a Villa Host is on hand for all special requests.
One and two bedroom villas are enclosed by a garden terrace, allowing guests to swim in their private pool, sunbathe on the deck and dine outside in blissful seclusion. For shared holidays with family and friends, some of the one bedroom garden pool villas feature interconnecting gardens.
Three restaurants will serve international favourites and local specialties, coastal Italian dining with ocean views, and the best of Thai, Indian and Chinese cuisines, while local market life and master chef tips ignite culinary passions at Spice Spoons cooking school.
Recreation facilities include an ocean view pool, a lagoon-side pool with Jacuzzi jets and children’s section, a spa with 11 treatment rooms and gym. Available water sports will include jet skiing, water skiing and banana rides.
Anantara Kalutara Resort is Anantara’s second resort destination to open in Sri Lanka. The brand’s first resort, Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle which opened in January of this year.
