Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau organised a familiarisation tour for 11 key travel agents from Malaysia with the support of SriLankan Airlines. They were in Sri Lanka from 20 to 27 October and got the opportunity to visit key tourist attractions such as Waikkala, Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Katharagama, Hikkaduwa and Colombo.

A B2B networking session arranged by Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) was held with the participation of over 50 local travel agents/hoteliers at the Mt. Lavinia hotel. This networking session helped Sri Lankan travel agents and hoteliers to build strong business links with their Malaysian counterparts. The local tourism industry also got the opportunity to promote its tourism products to these key Malaysian travel agents.

The event was a great collaborative effort as the airline tickets for the group was provided by SriLankan Airlines, whereas transport was provided by Jetwing Travels. Accommodation for the travel agents provided by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and Citrus Hotel Hikkaduwa provided accommodation for their stay in Hikkaduwa on FOC basis.
