Malaysia has set a tourism revenue target of RM67-billion for itself, three times that of 2009.

Tourism Malaysia has announced plans of establishing the country as a top corporate travel destination by creating a ‘Straits Riviera’. According to a report in eTravel Blackboard, at the recent Economic Transformation Programme Open Day, 12-entry point projects and business opportunities were proposed to help the tourism sector increase its contribution to the gross national income within ten years. Among these are development plans for the world’s first eco-nature integrated resort in Sabah, assigning KLCC-Bukit Bintang as a set shopping precinct, and establishing three new shopping outlets in Malaysia.
