The fans have indeed spoken – 100,000 of them, in fact. Known for its reputation as Sri Lanka’s premier hospitality brand, Jetwing Hotels has now reached another milestone on Facebook; becoming the first hospitality company in Sri Lanka to do so. Recognising the importance and value of social media years before, Jetwing Hotels embarked on a strategy which focused on platforms such as Facebook not just as a tool of marketing but as a bridge of constant and relevant communication. Through Facebook, Jetwing provides interesting and up-to-date content in the form of images, videos, and also through competitions and promotions. In addition, Jetwing took the platform to new heights with the inclusion of their booking engine on Facebook itself. This provided fans the opportunity to easily choose any of the Jetwing properties and book from the page itself, a novel first. “A big thank you goes out to our loyal fans, who have supported us over the years. With their interaction, comments, ideas, likes and shares, we today have become the first hospitality brand in Sri Lanka to reach 100,000 fans. Jetwing Hotels have adapted quickly to a fast changing world where technologies and social media are the mantra of our societies today; this has enabled us to harness the technologies of the day in helping drive the future of tourism and remain relevant to the next generation of customer,” said Ishanth Gunewardene, Head of Sales and Marketing for Jetwing. Family-owned and in the tourism industry for the past 40 years, Jetwing Hotels has surpassed expectation at every aspect. Building on their foundation of being passionate, as well as the experience of true, traditional Sri Lankan hospitality, constantly pioneering discoveries captures the essence of the brand. Such a strong statement and direction have enabled Jetwing Hotels to imagine, create and manage marvels and masterpieces, where distinctive design and elegant comfort complement each other and the environment. Considered a priority, sustainable and responsible practice is implemented through the award winning Jetwing Eternal Earth Program; with energy efficiency, community upliftment, and education of earth saving measures to schoolchildren being a few tenets of the Program.
