Expo Aviation Ltd., announced a major rebranding recently of the company and its ExpoAir brand.
In this move the company Expo Aviation Ltd., has been renamed as Fits Aviation, while the marketing name ‘ExpoAir’ will now be known as FitsAir and carries the slogan of ‘friend in the skies’.
The name change has been in effect from 20 March 2013. Established since 1997 as a part of ExpoLanka, Fits Aviation Deputy Chief Executive Officer Azad Thowfeek told the Daily FT that the decision for the name change was taken to protect the identity of ExpoLanka Holdings.
Stating that Expo Aviation did not go public when ExoLanka did, Thowfeek said: “The directors felt it is high time that Expo Aviation changed its name.”
He shared that since ExpoAviation was a very popular name, many mistook it to be a part of Expolanka Holdings. Hence, “The directors thought a name change would help to clarify this misconception,” Thowfeek added.
Despite the company name and brand having undergone a change, Thowfeek emphasised that there has been no change in the Board of Directors, management, operating policies, and staff of Fits Aviation.
Being the first private airline to be licensed for international cargo operations by the Sri Lankan Civil Aviation Authority, FitsAir is the only airline apart from the national carrier to have its own ground handling operations at the Bandaranaike International Airport. Promising to offer unique services based on value for money while achieving stringent service standards, FitsAir has successfully established itself among domestic air passengers based on its commitments and dedication to providing services of highest quality.
