Emirates unveils special Economy and Business Class fares in Colombo

Emirates has announced a series of new special fares for travel out of Colombo, proving once again that luxury air travel does not have to cost an arm and a leg.

Valid for travel in September, October and November, these special fares cover 16 popular destinations in Europe, North America and Asia, and represent several tiers of savings going up to a massive 42 per cent.

The 16 destinations promoted with special fares are Singapore and Dubai in Asia; New York, Houston, Los Angeles and Toronto in North America; London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, and Newcastle in the UK and Frankfurt, Paris, Rome, Milan and Zurich in mainland Europe.

“These special fares provide an opportunity for our regular customers as well as those who have not experienced Emirates before to enjoy our award-winning product and value additions at a significant saving,” said Devika Ellepola, Emirates Sales Manager in Sri Lanka. 

She pointed out that customers can also experience the Emirates A380 at these special fares on the routes served by the iconic aircraft. 

The special Economy Class return fare to Singapore, at Rs 27,800 excluding taxes, is 15 per cent lower than the market fare, while the special Colombo – Dubai return fare of 38,000 (excluding taxes) represents a 42 per cent saving on the market fare. Both fares are available for purchase before 30 September and travel must be completed by 30 November 2011.

Special fares to Europe start at Rs 76,000 to Milan excluding taxes, a saving of 12 per cent. The fares to the five points in the UK served by Emirates are from Rs 81,000 upwards excluding taxes. All special fares to the UK and the five European destinations must be purchased 14 days ahead of the date of travel. These fares will be available up to 31 October for travel that is completed by 30 November.

For Economy class travel to New York, Houston, Los Angeles and Toronto special fares start from Rs 136,000 (excluding taxes) with discounts up to nine per cent on market price. The special fare to New York has to be purchased before 31 October and travel completed before 30 November 2011. Passengers travelling to Houston and Los Angeles have to purchase their tickets before 30 September and are required to complete travel before 31 October 2011 to be eligible for the special fares. 

Besides the special fares applicable for Economy Class travel, special Business Class fares are available to four destinations -- Los Angeles, Toronto, Frankfurt and Paris. 

Passengers on Emirates flights enjoy generous baggage allowances of 30kg, 40kg and 50kg respectively on Economy, Business and First Class. Members of Skywards, the airline’s frequent flyer programme, win Skywards Miles on all sectors flown on Emirates operated flights and also have the added benefit of bonus miles on certain routes through the airline’s ‘Miles Accelerator’ feature.
