Emirates has confirmed that from 1 December 2015 it will add four new weekly flights between Phuket and Dubai.
Adding a capacity increase of 57% the four new flights will introduce connectivity from most cities in the Americas for the first time, as well as improve connections to a number of key destinations in Europe and the Middle East via one convenient stop in Dubai.
“Phuket is one of Thailand’s premier holiday destinations and is a key gateway to many other islands in the region. Not only are these additional flights great news for holiday markets but also important to support travel and tourist companies which see great value in the direct flights to Phuket,” said Jabr Al-Azeeby, Area Manager for Thailand and Indochina. “The additional flights likewise make it even more convenient for residents in the southern part of Thailand to connect to Dubai and the rest of the world.”
Emirates will operate the new weekly flights with a Boeing 777-300ER, offering eight seats in First Class, 42 seats in Business Class and 310 Economy Class seats.
Emirates offers passengers a generous baggage allowance with 30 kilograms for those travelling in Economy Class, 40 kilograms for Business Class and 50 kilograms for First Class.
EK396 will depart Dubai at 22:55 and arrive at Phuket International Airport at 08:00 the following day.
The return flight, EK397 will depart Phuket at 09:30 and arrives in Dubai the same day at 13:20.
Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, said, “Since the launch in 2012 Phuket has been a solid success story. The fact that we are now adding a further four weekly flights highlights not only the desirability of the destination but also the demand for passengers wishing to travel with Emirates.”
Emirates now employs more than 500 Thai employees in its operations including 407 cabin crew.
