Emirates, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, celebrated the opening of its 35th dedicated lounge for First Class and Business Class passengers as well as Platinum and Gold members of Emirates Skywards – the airline’s frequent flyer program, at Milan Malpensa Airport.
Following closely from the opening of the Emirates First Class and Business Class lounges in Concourse A – Dubai Airport, the world’s first dedicated A380 Concourse, the Emirates Lounge at Milan Malpensa Airport, a 2.48 million euro investment, is the first international lounge to feature the airline’s contemporary new interior design.
The grand opening was marked by a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Mohammed Mattar, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President Airport Services, Giulio De Metrio, SEA Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO, Emirates sponsored AC Milan football team players including Massimo Ambrosini, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Stephan El Shaarawy, along with AC Milan Coach Massimiliano Allegri and AC Milan General Manager Adriano Galliani, local dignitaries, members of the media and senior Emirates staff.
The largest dedicated lounge at the Milan Malpensa Airport, the interior design provides a seamless transition to the elegant environment of a First Class or Business Class on-board suite – with a colour palette reflecting the neutral, earthy tones that customers have come to associate with the Emirates brand.
Located in the third satellite area of Milan Malpensa Airport, the new Emirates Lounge offers seating for 158 customers covering an indoor area of 929 square metres. The fresh design has the same attention to detail as the other Emirates’ lounges throughout the world, where guests can enjoy an array of luxurious facilities and amenities that include LED TVs, comfortable leather armchairs, a choice of formal and relaxed seating, a quiet area, a dining area, shower facilities, business centre, water feature and bespoke artworks. The lounge also has a dedicated prayer room.
First Class and Business Class passengers can also take advantage of an exclusive private chauffeur drive service from Milan Malpensa Airport, a service that has been extended up to 100 kilometres from the airport (it was previously 60 kilometres) in order to guarantee maximum comfort to customers.
Emirates currently operates in Italy with 49 weekly flights, including three daily flights to Milan Malpensa, two daily flights to Rome Fiumicino and two daily flights to Venice Marco Polo.
