A bonanza of bonus miles, which can be redeemed for free tickets, awaits lucky Gold and Silver members of ‘Skywards’ the frequent flyer programme of Emirates, when they fly with the award-winning Dubai-based international airline over the next three months.
Skywards Gold members can win up to 10,000 bonus miles, equivalent to a return ticket from Colombo to Maldives, while Silver members can win up to 5,000 bonus miles, the equivalent of a one way upgrade from Economy to Business Class from Colombo to the Maldives.
The bonus miles passengers win will be in addition to the Skywards Miles they would automatically be entitled to, as well as the bonus miles Gold and Silver Skywards members can earn through the ‘Miles Accelerator’ feature.
From mid June to mid September, 15 winners – five winners for every 30-day period – will be chosen from among Skywards Gold and Silver members who purchase tickets from Colombo to fly Emirates to any of the airline’s 113 destinations.
“The appeal of bonus miles has increased significantly with the rapid expansion of our network,” Devika Ellepola, Emirates Sales Manager in Sri Lanka said. “The global route network of Emirates provides Skywards members with an unparalleled opportunity to travel to many exotic destinations by redeeming the miles they accrue.”
Among the latest destinations on the Emirates network are Geneva, to which services commenced on 1 June, Copenhagen, which comes on line on 1 August, St. Petersburg from 1 November, and Baghdad from 13 November.
To enter the draw Gold and Silver Skywards members have to register online at www.skywards.com or www.emirates.com/lk submitting name, ticket number, Skywards number, routing and date of travel.
Tickets have to be purchased and outbound travel completed before the last day of each 30-day promotion period to be eligible for the offer. The offer cannot be combined with any other promotions and is only applicable for Gold and Silver Skywards members purchasing adult fare tickets.
Winners will be notified by email in the first week of the corresponding month after each monthly draw.
Besides the Skywards Miles that Skywards Members receive when they fly Emirates, passengers enjoy generous baggage allowances of 30kg, 40kg and 50kg respectively on Economy, Business and First Class.
The winner of more than 400 top international awards, Emirates operates 21 flights a week from Colombo to Dubai and daily flights to Singapore, offering First, Business and Economy Class travel.
