Emirates, the leading international airline of the UAE, has added a new fuel surcharge to its airfares.
The increase in fuel surcharge ranges from Dh40 ($10.90) for an economy class ticket on South Asian sectors to Dh150 per ticket on US routes, said a report in Emirates 24x7.
The additional fuel surcharge is attributed to the expected hike in jet fuel price due, the report quoted an official circular as saying.
Economy class tickets to Africa, Europe, Far East and Australia/New Zealand destinations will incur an additional fuel surcharge of Dh80 for a single trip and Dh160 for a return ticket.
