The Colombo Academy of Hospitality Management (CAHM) is Sri Lanka’s largest hospitality private academy and is in partnership with the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) and the William Angliss Institute (WAI), Australia. CAHM is a dedicated centre for Foods, Tourism, Hospitality and Events.
Post war, the hospitality and tourism industry has seen a boom and also has identified the importance of Corporate Travellers, Free Independent Travellers and MICE Travellers. Therefore, CAHM takes the privilege of organising a conference on ‘Integrating the management participation for MICE Tourism and Hospitality Development in Sri Lanka’ on 3 December from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the SLIIT, Malabe Auditorium for the students of the Academy (Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management).
The Guest of Honour to grace this occasion will be Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority Chairman Paddy Withana. There will also be a panel discussion held by Sri Lanka Convention Bureau General Manager Vipula Wanigasekara, SriLankan Airlines International Aviation College Dept. General Manager Buddhika Hewawasam, Sri Lanka Association of Professional Conference and Events Organisers President Ziyan Ameen and Shangri La Hotels General Manager Mehdi Serrour, where they will discuss events, macro and micro factors, planning and organising and implementation related to MICE tourism.
This is an opportunity for the students of CAHM to meet with many dignitaries from the Hospitality and Tourism industry as there will be a series of discussions held to educate them on the aforementioned topic.
As the first Annual Industry Conference was held in 2014 and was an accomplishment for the Academy; the Chief Executive Officer Steven Bradie-Miles wishes the team success and takes this opportunity to thank the Industry officials who have agreed to be a part of the Annual Industry Conference 2015.
CAHM is a dedicated Academy to ensure that students get a thorough understanding of the Hospitality and Tourism industry and educates and trains them accordingly to ensure that they are ‘industry job ready’. The conference is an opportunity for the students to enhance their knowledge and apply these facts while they learn in their classrooms.
