While the hospitality industry in Sri Lanka reaches for greater heights with the National Bartenders Cocktail Competition 2016 – recognising and awarding prominent talent that’s subjective to the industry – Citrus Hotels stands in the frontline with the many accolades achieved by their team for the tremendous performances put forward by them at the recent competition.
The vibrant and energetic Citrus team comprised of staff from all three Citrus properties: Citrus Waskaduwa (a five-star hotel located in Kalutara), Citrus Hikkaduwa (a multi-star, beach front hotel) and The Steuart by Citrus (located in the heart of Colombo).
Chanaka Nissanka and Chethiya Lakruwan from Citrus Waskaduwa were placed 2nd and 3rd runners up respectively in the creative cocktail category. Nalin Wickramasinghe from Citrus Waskaduwa emerged as the winner in the flair trending category while Chalana Moratuwage also from Citrus Waskaduwa was the 2nd runner up in the same category. Dilkey Herft and Binnoy Perera from The Steuart by Citrus showcased an excellent performance in the Colombo regional unit while Athula Dias from Citrus Hikkaduwa performed equally well in deep down-south regional unit at the competition.
The expertise of the Learning and Development department of Citrus Hotels, headed by Asela Ranganath De Silva, lead the team to taking part in the National Bartenders Cocktail Competition 2016 for the very first time; paving the way towards the many achievements won by the team.
