Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, last week resumed flights to Sri Lanka after a lapse of five years. Happy to be back in what was home ground for many years, the airline chose to make Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo their home away from home.
Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo is well geared to host crews of major airlines and is also the official host hotel for Oman Air and Etihad Airways. The crew of the maiden flight to Sri Lanka was warmly greeted and garlanded by the hotel’s Guest Relations Officers and were invited to light the ceremonial oil lamp to celebrate the new partnership.
The hotel’s Director of Sales and Marketing Chandana Talwatte and Rooms Division Manager Mirza Fajudeen welcomed the Captain, First Officer and their crew of the inaugural flight at the hotel’s lobby, after which they were escorted to their rooms and informed of the luxurious Crew Lounge equipped with many facilities for their enjoyment.
Offering five flights a week from the Bandaranaike International Airport, Gulf Air is certainly back to stay!
