Cinnamon Grand Colombo further re-establishing its forte as a green corporate entity within the JKH Group of companies, winning the coveted JKH Chairman’s Award for Sustainability for the year 2015 at Chairman’s Awards for Outstanding Achievement held at the Oak Room recently.
The hotel was commended and recognised for its ongoing initiatives and consistent overall sustainability performance over the previous year. It has also recently implemented and installed the Rs.170 million Building Management System (BMS), which is expected to save 12,000 tonnes of greenhouses gases in three years, saving nine million kWh along with the various initiatives conducted throughout the year to create a greener mindset. Cinnamon Grand is a second time recipient of this award.
The award was received by Cinn-amon Grand’s Chief Engineer Panduka Wijeyawardena in the presence of JKH Vice President and Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts Sector Head-City Hotels Rohan Karr from JKH Chairman Susantha Ratnayake.
