Cinnamon Air (www.cinnamonair.com), Sri Lanka’s premier domestic airline, is glad to have had world-famous culinary legend Marco Pierre White on board during his visit to Sri Lanka organised by Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts in collaboration with the British High Commission and SriLankan Airlines.
Marco Pierre White chose Cinnamon Air to travel across the island while he was in Sri Lanka. He flew from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) to Castlereagh Reservoir, Hatton on 19 January and from Hatton to Minneriya on 20 January. Also, on 22 January, he flew from BIA to Sigiriya and on 23 January to Tissa Lake (Tissamaharama) from Colombo (Waters Edge).
Cinnamon Air was able to offer Marco Pierre White access to a wide array of destinations in Sri Lanka thanks to the capability of landing on water and land using the amphibian aircraft. Also, Marco Pierre White was thrilled to have travelled in an amphibian aircraft as this was his first time landing and taking off on water. He stated that his experience with Cinnamon Air was ‘fantastic’.
Marco Pierre White is a celebrated restaurateur, television personality, an author, and chef. Marco Pierre White in Sri Lanka was presented by Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts in collaboration with the British High Commission. He was flown in courtesy of the national carrier Sri Lankan Airlines and event partners were HSBC, Knorr, Sri Lanka Tourism, Quintessentially Lifestyle, Land Rover Sri Lanka, Cinnamon Air and Trekurious.
All Cinnamon Air scheduled flights operate in code share with SriLankan Airlines, consequent to which they are also be available for sale throughout the SriLankan Airlines network and all Travel Agents around the world via Global Distribution Systems, under a ‘UL’ designated flight number.
Cinnamon Air, owned and operated by Saffron Aviation Ltd., is a joint venture between Sri Lanka’s largest listed conglomerate, John Keells Holdings, MMBL Leisure Holdings (a part of the Mercantile Merchant Bank Group) and Phoenix Ventures (parent of the Brandix Group, Sri Lanka’s largest garment manufacturer).
The airline operates a fleet of two Cessna 208 amphibian aircraft and one Cessna 208B Grand Caravan aircraft, with scheduled services to key inland points in Sri Lanka. Cinnamon Air also offers charter services to and between all airports and water aerodromes in Sri Lanka.
