Cathay Pacific yesterday announced that it will increase the frequency of its service to Boston with the addition of three weekly flights to offer passengers a daily non-stop service from Hong Kong commencing 26 March 2017.
The airline’s Vancouver schedule will also be enhanced by the addition of three extra weekly services, effective 28 March 2017, bringing the total number of flights to the Canadian city to 17 per week.
These additional services to Boston and Vancouver will offer greater travel options and improved connectivity for passengers travelling between Hong Kong and North America.
Boston was introduced to the network in 2015, making Cathay Pacific the first – and only – airline to operate a nonstop service between Hong Kong and the historic Massachusetts city. The soon-to-be daily service will meet the demand for a high-quality travel experience to and from the New England gateway and strengthen the airline’s presence on the East Coast of the United States.
In 1983, Cathay Pacific became the first airline to operate direct flights between Hong Kong and Vancouver. Backed by more than three decades of quality service, passengers on Cathay Pacific’s new thrice-weekly morning flight can look forward to experiencing our newest and most environmentally friendly aircraft – the Airbus A350,which features state-of-the-art cabin products, an enhanced inflight entertainment system and WiFi connectivity in all classes.
Cathay Pacific Chief Executive Ivan Chu said: “We are fully committed to the North America market and are pleased to strengthen our services to Boston and Vancouver to meet ongoing business and leisure travel demand. Our A350 aircraft has received excellent customer feedback and we are excited to offer this great product on our additional Vancouver service next year.”
Cathay Pacific currently operates more than 100 passenger flights a week between Hong Kong and eight destinations in North America, including Chicago, Los Angeles, New York (JFK), Newark, San Francisco, Boston, Toronto and Vancouver.
“We are pleased to offer our passengers in Sri Lanka more travel options to North America. With these additional flights introduced, the overall travelling time from Colombo to Vancouver via Hong Kong will be shortened, bringing greater convenience to our passengers,” added Aldric Chau, Country Manager Sri Lanka and Maldives.
