Ananda Wimalasena appointed CAA Chairman

Ananda Wimalasena was appointed as the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority by Minister of Transport Nimal Siripala De Silva and assumed duties yesterday. DGCA/CEO H.M.C. Nimalsiri also took part in this occasion.

Wimalasena was the Chairman of the Airport and Aviation Services (SL) Ltd. prior to this appointment. He also has held many other prestigious positions as the founder Managing Director of Asiri Surgical Hospitals Plc, Chairman of State Pharmaceutical Corporation, etc. He is an accountant by profession and a science graduate.

Wimalasena has much experience in both private and public sector and is a product of Ananda College Colombo and the University of Colombo.

Shibly Aziz, P.C. the former Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, was appointed to the Constitutional Council.
