Various stakeholders of the airline industry yesterday welcomed the new Saudi Arabian Airlines Country Manager to Sri Lanka and Maldives, Wadhah Aladhadh.
The event organised by Aeroworld Ltd., a subsidiary of the Shums Group, gave stakeholders and partners an opportunity to meet the new Country Manager who took over his new role on the 23 July.
The new Country Manager Aladhadh has had a long history with SAUDIA which is the flag carrier of Saudi Arabia. He has held positions of Manager for the airline in Kuwait, Pakistan and Malaysia in addition to holding Station Manager Positions in Jakarta and Cairo.
SAUDIA is also part of the SKYTEAM, a global alliance of airlines. This enables SAUDIA to give its customers many benefits such as frequent flyer miles and access to 1057 destinations in 179 countries on partner airlines. The alliance also makes it possible for SAUDIA to give first/business and Alfursan Gold and Silver member passengers’ access to over 600 lounges worldwide along with priority check-in and boarding.
In Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabian airlines participates in air transport services and giving customers convenient connections to all destinations in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Europe, USA and Canada.
The airline is also carrying out a very aggressive fleet modernisation program with brand new B777s, B787s, A330s and A321/320s. The program is currently underway and will be completed by 2020.
Aeroworld Ltd. has been the General Sales Agent for Saudi Arabian Airlines in Sri Lanka and Maldives since 1994.
