The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) launched their latest tourism initiative titled ‘Amazing New Chapters’ to create awareness amongst travel agents (partners) regarding new regulations and procedures to visit Thailand. The initiative was launched together with leading travel agents and distinguished members of SriLankan Airlines, United Ventures and TAT.
Tourism Authority of Thailand Director Mumbai Khun Cholada addressed the gathering and explained the new procedures and processes to follow when promoting the destination and visa requirements. Cholada further introduced some of the most sought-after attractions and off the beaten experiences in Thailand. During the discussion, the travel agents requested more information on the visa procedure and details of Destination Management Companies (DMCs) in Thailand for assistance to expedite visa requirements, which was also addressed and taken up as an action point for further communications post-event.
Thereafter, SriLankan Airlines briefed the audience about flight schedules and connections the airline offers to Thailand to increase awareness amongst travel agents during the ‘Amazing New Chapters’ tourism drive launch. Srilankan Airlines also sponsored three economy class tickets to Thailand to winners selected through a raffle draw with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations. United Ventures Director Thisum Jayasuriya stated: “Containment of the pandemic is top priority for the global tourism industry. We are hopeful that our efforts will be rewarded at the highest level when tourism restarts in full swing. Our continued collaboration with TAT and all our stakeholders in the tourism fraternity in Sri Lanka will help us re-establish ourselves to conform to the new market dynamics, traveler trends, and expectations when promoting Thailand as a destination.”
The Tourism Authority of Thailand is on a mission to elevate the tourism partnership between Sri Lanka and Thailand as the global travel environment gradually recovers during these unprecedented times.
