India’s biggest travel and trade engagement show ‘SATTE’ was held at the India Expo Centre, Greater Noida from 16 to 18 January.
In its 26th edition, the three-day event bagged an excellent response with market leaders increasing their stand size, followed by participation from the cross section of global and Indian travel and tourism markets. The show is marked by 1,000 exhibitors and representation from over 50 countries and 90 cities from across India.

Sri Lanka Tourism Pavilion at SATTE was inaugurated Minister of Tourism Development, Christian Religious Affairs and Wildlife John Amaratunga, along with Sri Lankan High Commissioner in New Delhi Austin Fernando, Senior Advisor to the Minister of Tourism Development, Wildlife and Christian Religious Affairs Felix Rodrigo, Sri Lankan High Commission in New Delhi Minister (Commercial) Upekkha Samaratunga, Sri Lankan Airlines – North India Manager Chinthaka Weerasinga and industry participants.
A total of 54 Sri Lankan companies participated at SATTE 2019, which is the highest participation ever in the country’s history related to participation at the fair.

Government of India Union Minister for State for Culture (I/C) Dr. Mahesh Sharma, along with Minister Amaratunga, Malaysian Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Y.B. Tuan Muhammad Bakhtiar bin Wan Chik, Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Tourism Deputy Minister of Tourism Marketing Nia Niscaya, UNWTO Regional Department for Asia and the Pacific Officer Eunji Tae, Sri Lankan High Commissioner in New Delhi Austin Fernando and National Tourism Advisory Committee Member Subhash Goyal.
True to its reputation as a comprehensive B2B platform catering to domestic and international buyers and professionals from across the travel industry, tourism and hospitality industry along with National and State Tourism Boards (NTOs and STOs), SATTE 2019 enabled professionals to congregate and conduct business, arrive at solution-driven innovations to counteract economic uncertainties, and promote inbound, outbound and domestic tourism in India. This year, it was promoted among international tourism boards as well.
The industry also saw the 3rd Edition of SATTE Awards powered by T3 on Day 2 of the expo which was held with the participation of Minister Amaratunga, not only to recognise and celebrate the excellence, but also to showcase the triumphs and innovations of key stakeholders.
