Cinnamon Air (www.cinnamonair.com), the premier domestic airline in Sri Lanka has been continuously focused on making the experience of traveling in the Island convenient and memorable.
As a result, Cinnamon Air has reintroduced seasonal daily scheduled flights between Colombo and Nuwara Eliya during the month of April. With the composition of Amphibian aircraft within their fleet, Cinnamon air has steadily maintained their ability to cater to specific seasonal demand flexibly, offering greater island-wide coverage through land and water aerodromes.
From 7 till 11 April, Cinnamon Air will be operating a daily scheduled flight from Colombo to Nuwara Eliya, departing Colombo City (Waters Edge) water aerodrome at 10:30 a.m. and estimated arrival at Nuwara Eliya (Lake Gregory) at 11 a.m. Additionally, on 14 and 15 April, Cinnamon Air will be operating daily scheduled flights from Nuwara Eliya departing at 09:30hrs, estimated arrival at Colombo at 10:00hrs.The flight time between Colombo and Nuwara Eliya is only 25 minutes, as opposed to a tiresome six hours of driving time.
Since commencing scheduled services over four years ago, Cinnamon Air has shaped its network to suit market needs. Currently, Cinnamon Air offers daily scheduled flights from Colombo to various locations in the south coast, the central hill country, east coast, and the Cultural Triangle, making access to these destinations quick and comfortable.
The seasonal scheduled flights to Nuwara Eliya allow travellers, both local and international, to access this popular destination during its “season” with a premium experience without the ardours of a tiresome road journey, effectively providing passengers plenty of time to explore the hill country with its diverse offerings.
All Cinnamon Air scheduled flights operate in code share with SriLankan Airlines, consequent to which they are also available for sale throughout the SriLankan Airlines network and all travel agents around the world via global distribution systems, under a “UL” designated flight number.
Cinnamon Air, owned and operated by Saffron Aviation Ltd., is a joint venture between Sri Lanka’s largest listed conglomerate, John Keells Holdings, MMBL Leisure Holdings (a part of the Mercantile Merchant Bank Group) and Phoenix Ventures (parent of the Brandix Group, Sri Lanka’s largest garment manufacturer). Cinnamon Air also offers charter services to and from all airports and water aerodromes in Sri Lanka.
The airline is based out of Katunayake where it operates a dedicated domestic terminal (within the precincts of the BIA) and has its own purpose-built hangar and maintenance facilities.
