OZO Colombo and OZO Kandy have been marking their achievement in culinary offerings; on the one hand, with consistently good feedback from customers which have shaped the culinary service philosophy of the two OZO Hotels in Sri Lanka and on the other, noticeable acknowledgement from industry related competitions.
At the recently held Culinary Arts Expo 2017 – Sri Lanka’s foremost hospitality trade show that recognises skills, technique and creativity in culinary art, OZO Kandy and OZO Colombo shined with a medal haul of 14.
OZO Kandy bagged medals for the five-course set menu, live cooking (hot), live desserts, butter carving, flambé dessert, vegetable carving, creative coffee and innovative brew cocktail categories, taking home 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 6 Bronze medals. The Gold medal was won by Taharaka Sanjeewa of the Kitchen department for the butter carving category.
OZO Colombo took home 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in the plated appetisers, palm by dessert hot live cooking, vegetarian hot live cooking categories.
Both OZO teams showed good skill in all areas from technique, creativity, innovative talent, presentation and plating in a series of live competitions where over 1,800 chefs from over 160 institutions from across the country participated and competed for recognition which was judged by 31 esteemed judges from the World Association of Chefs’ Societies. The OZO teams comprising of chefs and proactive members from the Kitchen and F&B departments excelled in winning accolades for their excellent creations.
