Kuwait Airways, the national carrier of Kuwait, recently participated in the annual Queen’s Birthday Banquet organised by the Sri Lanka UK Society at the Oak Room, Cinnamon Grand, Colombo. Given the airline’s four-decade-long history in Sri Lanka, the annual celebration of the Queen’s birthday has been an annual staple of the Sri Lanka UK Society calendar since its inception in 1985. This year’s gala event was presided over by UK High Commissioner James Dauris who, together with SLUKS President Rohan Victoria, proposed the toasts for UK and Sri Lanka. Past Rotary International President K. R. Ravindran was the after-dinner speaker at an event that was attended by Colombo’s elite.
Kuwait Airways, which operates daily flights in and out of Colombo, operates to various destinations in the EU, USA and Middle East, including Malaga, Trabzon, Tbilisi, Cairo, Alexandria, New York and, of course, London. These prime travel destinations will all be serviced by the world’s youngest fleet, which includes the airline’s flagship Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, and is the only airline to offer consistent First and Business Class operation, flatbed and Wi-Fi on all flights from Colombo, further complimented by the luxurious First Class cabins on the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft operating out of Kuwait, which includes 80 degrees pitched, full flatbeds, private suites, full aisle access, and enhanced baggage allowances of 46kgs on Economy Class and 64kgs on Business Class, far more than offered by other airlines operating out of Colombo, in addition to ensuring passengers to these destinations also enjoy premium lounge facilities and Oasis Club frequent flyer benefits as well.
