Go Vacation Sri Lanka, together with local hotel and service providers, organised and hosted a familiarisation tour for Manta Reisen, Switzerland during the first week of November, for a group of 10 distinguished travel agents. Arriving on an Edelweiss flight direct from Zurich, the group stayed overnight at the leading Negombo beach resort Jetwing Blue, and drove to Sigiriya for a hike to Pidurangala Rock and a cycling tour with an overnight at Cinnamon Lodge. They then moved on to Kandy for sightseeing and overnighted at Cinnamon Citadel; then proceeded by train to the cool hill retreat of Nuwara Eliya a.k.a. ‘Little England’, where they stayed at the nostalgic Jetwing St. Andrews. Visits were made to a typical tea estate and factory, before driving on to Udawalawe National Park for a game-watching Jeep safari and overnight at Grand Udawalawe. An overnight at the luxurious Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle provided them with a short rest on the beach before exploring the West Coast visiting leading beach resorts and the 18th Century walled port of Galle along the way. The last night was spent at the iconic Taj Bentota. After such an extensive tour the agents left back to Switzerland, inspired by all they had seen on this serendipitous island – Pic by Kumarasiri Prasad - Airport Correspondent.
