In recognition of its excellence in business, Classic Travel was awarded a Gold Award under the Other Services category at the recently concluded National Business Excellence Awards 2017 (NBEA), the annual award competition hosted by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL). This award ceremony is conducted in recognising business enterprises, which have demonstrated excellence in business, whilst contributing to the economic progress of the country.
Classic Travel Chief Operating Officer Shiham Imamudeen, General Manager Sabry Bahaudeen, Project Head Shazna Hassan, and representatives from the Classic Travel management team accepted the award in the presence of a large gathering of top business leaders, leading business organisations, and diplomatic missions, including the Chief Guest, Canadian High Commissioner David McKinnon.
The Annual Business Excellence Award nominations are evaluated by an eminent panel of judges, adhering to judging criteria based on the structured Excellence Evaluation Model, namely: excellence in business and financial results, capacity building, performance management, local and global market reach, leadership, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability.

This inaugural NBEA win for Classic Travel is a further testament to its outstanding performance in all its operational aspects and a true honour to be awarded the Gold Award, among the Country’s most excellently managed organisations – concluding 2017 on a high and strong form.
