Cinnamon’s city hotels Cinnamon Grand, Cinnamon Lakeside and Cinnamon Red won six of the coveted nine categories at the prestigious ‘Rising Stars’ hospitality awards presented by the Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL) at the BMICH on Tuesday 25 October.
Over 420 participants from 75 hotels across the island, vied for a place in the finals with the three Cinnamon’s city hotels gaining six Gold, two Silver and one Bronze award.
Cinnamon Grand: Selvarasu Kumar Shanker (Gold – Best Steward category) Dinuka Dhananjaya (Gold – Best Pool Attendant category) and Danushka Wijayagunasekara (Bronze – Best Concierge category).
Cinnamon Lakeside: L. B. Maduka Priyadarshani (Gold – Best Attendant category), Vishwanathan Vinothprasanth (Gold – Best Bell Hop category), Shannon Fonseka (Bronze – Best Receptionist category) and Nadaraja Vimal Vithyahar (nominee in the ‘Telephone Operator’ category).
Cinnamon Red: John De Croos from Cinnamon Red (Gold – Best Public Area Attendant category), Julain Veronica (Gold – Best Telephone Attendant category), Buddhika Lakmal (Silver – Best Kitchen Steward category), Hiran Gamage (Silver – Best Room Attendant).
In addition, Cinnamon chain’s resort property representative H.S.M.P.P. Bandara from Cinnamon Bey Beruwala, also won a Silver award in the ‘Best Steward’ category.
