CMI Sri Lanka has commenced a series of workshops on Industry Best Practices, to uplift the standards of small and medium scale hotels across the country. For this purpose expertise already engaged in various CMI activities will be utilised.
The inaugural event within this series of workshops was on ‘Overall Business Management’, and was conducted with the objective of overcoming operational issues and increasing profitability which is a timely requirement in today’s business context. The event was held on 11 January 2019, at Eden Resort and Spa Beruwala. The audience for the program were the hoteliers in Bentota and Beruwala.
Veteran hotelier Nirmalan Nagendra, who is a consultant of KPMG for the hospitality and hotel industry and an ex co member of CMI, conducted the program. The event was sponsored by Litro Gas Ltd., while the Bentota and Beruwala Hoteliers Association facilitated the session.
The Association consists of 55 hotels which are located mainly in the Bentota/Beruwala coastline. About 100 managerial staff consisting of General Managers, HR, F&B, Marketing and Finance Managers as well as Executive House Keepers and other staff of Hotels represented the Association.
