Conducted by Antyra Solutions Chairman/CEO Niranka T. Perera and his team, the workshop followed on the heels of Antyra’s publication, the ‘Sri Lanka Hotel Sector Impact Online’, preliminary edition.
The report attempts to quantify the online demand in the country and the destination level post-Easter Sunday, through an analysis of online conversations, brand demand and rate search data of 54 hotels in Sri Lanka. The learnings from this study and subsequent analysis offered potential opportunities to fast-track booking recovery through the effective use of digital marketing techniques.
Sponsored by Jetwing Colombo Seven, the workshop delved into these insights to discuss potential recovery opportunities online with tourism industry professionals. Key topics of discussion included the establishment of a framework to track data and ascertain recovery at a hotel/travel brand level, identifying opportunities in existing source markets as well as potential new markets and creating a structured approach to drive bookings with an emphasis on a positive ROI. “Specialising in online hospitality marketing, Antyra has been collating data and analysing the impact on hotel bookings in the online space since April. We were happy to note that the latest data in June show initial signs of recovery and gradually increasing demand, as seen across the 60+ individual hotels that we work with in Sri Lanka,” said Perera.
“Utilising the insights derived from this data, we presented tangible execution ideas for recovery at the hotel/brand level, including case studies and examples of success stories from our clients,” he further added.
“We felt this was the need of the hour, to discuss what we can do as individual hotels, chains and brands to fast-track our own recovery in light of the country’s current situation. Jetwing Colombo Seven was happy to come onboard as the official sponsor for this educational workshop,” said Jetwing Hotels Ltd. Manager Marketing Hashan Cooray.
