Aitken Spence Travels, in collaboration with SriLankan Airlines and TUI France, recently hosted a group of top travel agents on a familiarisation visit to Sri Lanka with the commencement of direct flights to Paris, France.
The direct flight option that is now available, is a welcoming move for French tourists who love Sri Lanka as an island getaway.
The familiarisation tour allowed agents to explore and experience how Sri Lanka has adapted to the new normal in order to welcome guests while conforming to the health and safety guidelines and procedures. It also gave the agents self-confidence to share this information with their clients.
The group visited some of the most significant tourist attractions in the country including five UNESCO sites such as Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya, Kandy and Galle. Additionally, they covered the central highlands as well as the golden sandy beaches of the west coast.
When asked about their overall experience created through the familiarisation visit, the agents commended that the Sri Lankan hospitality and charm is a definite plus. The tour covered significant places and they look forward to a successful year for the sector despite the COVID setback. Furthermore, they anticipate that Sri Lanka would remain one of the most popular Asian destinations for French tourists.
