Ukrainian budget carrier SkyUp Airlines operated the first charter flight to Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (HRI) on 28 December.
The airline operating a Boeing 737-900 aircraft has plans to operate charter flights up to end March 2021.
SkyUp Airlines is headquartered in Ukraine and commenced operations in May 2018. Its main hub is Boryspil International Airport (KBP) located 29 km east of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.
With a vision to ‘make travel available to more people’ and to ‘connect the world with Ukraine’, SkyUp has been continuously expanding its route map and currently operate scheduled and charter flights to over 25 countries.
The airline’s fleet consists of 11 aircraft which is also the youngest fleet among airlines in Ukraine with an average age of 11.5 years.
SkyUp Airlines operate an all-Economy Class cabin and offer tailor-made airfares for passengers based on their travel needs. Passengers are able to select the airfare based on the baggage allowance and the flexibility of itinerary changes they require. It is also able to opt for various ancillary services including meal pre-order, seat selection, extra baggage, and sports equipment, UMNR service, animal transportation, etc.
