Deshamanya Roshan Wickramanayaka, who took over the helm of the Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of Sri Lanka, which was formed in 2004 and is affiliated to the Asia Tennis Ball Cricket Federation and the India Tennis Ball Cricket Federation, promised to put the TBCFSL on the right path during a special general meeting, held at the Uranium Hotel in Matara yesterday.
“Although the TBCFSL was formed 11 years ago it has not been registered with the Ministry of Sports and obtaining this registration will be my first priority as your new president,” he stated.
When it was pointed out that the Sri Lanka Soft Ball Cricket Federation had already been recognised by the Ministry of Sport, he said that the rules under which tennis ball cricket is played differ from soft ball cricket and promised to make a copy of the rules and regulations available.
The Director of the Police Training School in Kalutara SSP P. Hettiarachchi, Project Officer at the Ministry of Sports Thilak Alponso, HQI of Matara CI Mahinda Caldera and Chandrika Wickremanayaka are Vice Presidents while L.B. Michael has held the post of Secretary since the federation’s inception. A.A. Sudath Jayanandana Dias is the Treasurer.
