Australia batsman David Warner was handed an official reprimand but escaped a ban after pleading guilty to an ICC code of conduct offence in Sunday’s fourth one-day international against Sri Lanka in Sydney.
Warner was aghast at being given out leg before to Thisara Perera for 60 when he had clearly edged the ball onto his pad. The opener shook his head and voiced his disapproval leading to him being reported for breaching the code relating to ‘showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match’.
Warner accepted the level one offence after the match, meaning there was no need for a formal hearing. (ABC)
