Travel Trade Sports Club appoints new committee

Dushy Jayaweera from Hemas Air Services was unanimously re-elected for a second term as the President of the Travel Trade Sports Club (TTSC) at its 37th Annual General Meeting held at the Ramada Colombo.

The new faces on the Committee are Anushan Perera from Aitken Spence Aviation, Ranil Delgoda from Galle Face Hotel, Cammy Gunasekera from Viluxur Holidays and Anushka Perera from Connaissance de Ceylan Ltd.

A hectic sports calendar has been planned for the year 2013/14 that will see a total of 16 events being worked off. The TTSC netball and bowling tournaments have already been completed and the sports events that have been finalised for the next few months are beach volleyball, hardball cricket 6’s and badminton (7 July at the S. Thomas’ College Mt. Lavinia Sports Complex).

Other events that will be held later are softball cricket, beach rugby, beach soccer, tennis, fun motor rally and soccer seven’s. Two new sports events that have been introduced into the sports calendar for the very first are carrom and archery. Also another annual event, The ‘Travel Trade Ball,’ a much looked forward to event in the TTSC Calendar, will be held on 26 October at the Cinnamon Grand.

Any member hotel, travel agency, destination management company or airline general sales agency are permitted to take part in these events that bring together the members of the Travel Trade in a spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship.
